Quoting Matisse:
Why is it only women who get scammed, are we too trusting, too desperate, cant see beyond the ends of our noses. Be a cynic, assume the man is a con artist, don't give out personal info esp. ssn, address, etc. Always meet in a public place and let a close friend know where you are going and with whom (license number is good). Don't let them in your door. If you are really "in love" hire a detective to check him out. Play it safe, smart too.
When I met my husband and he wanted to get married after knowing each other only months, I made him wait one year. I figured he couldn't keep up a front that long and would give away his true self eventually. What if he was an alcoholic, a gambler, mental, etc. We were married for over 40 years.
